Feasibility study 1 MW solar array
Results from a feasibility study for a 1 Megawatt ground mounted solar array were presented to the public at the Environment Centre in Swansea at the end of November 2013. The study took into consideration the following aspects:
Technical – topology; site layout; solar array specification; transport; construction process; access; decommissioning.
Environmental – designations; ecology; public body stakeholder consultation; visual impact; screening; local development plan; amenity; flood risk.
Financial – resource estimate; potential suppliers; capital expenditure estimate; operation expenditure estimate; financial model and results.
We now enter a second phase of research carrying out public consultation in February and March (dates/venues to be announced), and also further technical study to iron out some of the risks that were identified.
